The village, with its quaint village shop and 17th-century pub The Church House Inn, lies in a tranquil valley just moments from the coast, the River Teign, and nearby attractions like Shaldon and Teignmouth.

Carlton House was clean and comfortable and a little "olde worlde", in keeping with its age and the thatched roof. However it had all the mod cons we needed and the parking space was a real bonus. A neighbour was parked in it when we arrived but they seemed to realise the house was occupied and parked elsewhere after the first 2 nights. There was ample space for 4 adults and a lovely courtyard garden with outdoor seating for sunny weather. It's handy for the well stocked local shop and the pub which does good food. The roads to the village are small and winding but ok with care and we found it a good central location. Highly recommended.
