We would highly recommend this property to anyone. We had a fantastic two week stay at Garden Lodge earlier this month. The accommodation was very comfortable with everything you could need whilst on holiday. The property was in a stunning location within walking distance of beautiful Shaldon. All added together to make a relaxing retreat for our two weeks stay. We were made to feel so welcome by our host Ian and his family - they were very helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Ian, who is an artist was also kind enough to show us some of his work - absolutely amazing! We had such a great time at Garden Lodge, that we have already booked to return again next year .... we can't wait!
Shaldon really is a hidden gem, great place to visit full of independent shops without the hustle and bustle of a being too busy! Great restaurants and bars and will definitely return! The chalet was lovely and comfortable, very clean and tastefully decorated with some stunning art work! Very clean, tidy and clutter free with great storage, it was a great place to be! Very comfortable bed with crisp white linen bedding, plenty of fresh towels and the Prosecco and chocolates was a very nice surprise. 20 minute walk into the town so we never used the car once there and had a parking space on the drive which is ideal. Met the owner Ian who is such a nice chap, polite and very talented, and had some interesting conversations reference his paintings which I got to see in his workshop, amazing is an understatement!! On hand if we needed anything (which we didn't) and not intrusive in anyway, will definitely return! Thank you!
We had a really lovely stay at the chalet. It is exactly as pictured and is tastefully decorated, super clean and well equipped. The terrace provides lovely views over the valley and the Prosecco and shortbread on arrival was a really thoughtful touch. We really enjoyed walking into Shaldon village each day for a look around and to grab a bite to eat. There are some lovely country lanes to explore on foot too. Ian, the owner, was very hospitable and friendly (and a great artist). Would recommend the chalet and we would certainly stay again!
